Dreaming of the Roses • 2012
Acrylic on canvas. About 24” x 20”.
I made this for my Dad’s 50th birthday. I used the grid method I learned in high school to transpose a stock image of horses running I found online. My Dad loves horses, so I thought it’d be cool to make him a super colorful painting of them.
The title was coined up by my Dad. He thought it looked like the horse furthest to the left was having a nice dream about running. This piece was also presented as part of his job’s annual art show. He was a Local 3 electrician, and every year they’d do an art show showcasing either their employees’ or their family members’ artwork.
